I have always liked Predator Camo but struggled with the fit. After hearing good things about their newer items I decided to give the Alpine jacket a try. You can read my review of it under that item.
I was so impressed with the jacket that I had to give the pants a try. I discussed the sizing with Jen and compared to my favorite jeans which are 34x30 Levi’s. I ended up going with the “38”. They come in a 34” length so for my height I knew they would be a little long. However, with my hunting boots they’re fine and I like that they do not ride up when sitting or taking longer steps. Otherwise, as with the jacket the fit is spot on, thanks to the great customer service.
The quality is right there with the jacket and the pattern is great as usual. The fabric is soft and while not completely silent it is definitely quiet enough for close range bowhunting. I wore them out on a quick hunt and found that the grid fleece was just enough for the mid 50’s weather without any base layers. I truly think with the right base layers this outfit will work great for me from the mid 40’s to 70’s, possibly even the lower 40’s.
The hand pockets are nice and deep, no danger of losing stuff. The two cargo pockets are up high where I like them with good flaps and quality zippers that are easy to open and close with one hand. The gripper band inside the waist helps keep them in place and prevent tucked in shirts from coming out.
Predator hit a home run with the Alpine series and their customer service is top notch! Jeremy on 27th Oct 2021
I can't say enough good things about these pants, they should hold up very well along with the jacket. True to size and very comfortable. Great for mornings that are a tad chilly and need a bit more but not too much. Made very well and the customer service is top notch, Jen will help you get the right size if you are unsure. Stitching seems solid and shouldn't break , very quiet material. I recommend these pants along with the matching jacket for bow season Extra Crispy on 27th Jul 2021
Should serve the purpose for early season. Putting them on to give them the once over test I squatted down to check crotch stitching and knee area for binding. Both are good. Stitching is solid and should hold up well. The fabric is smooth and resisted burrs and seeds from sticking while walking field edges checking cameras. Fit and feel is really good. They are soft against the skin and quiet while moving, a must for bow season. I recommend these pant to anyone considering an early season hunting suit. Mark T. on 26th May 2021
So far I really like these pants, they will be perfect for archery hunts where you have cold mornings and need a little more insulation than just the special hiking pants. Seem to be good quality and are VERY quite. Glenn on 9th Dec 2020
I am liking these pants. The pockets are well thought out. The pants are long enough that when you sit the cuffs don’t ride up over your boot tops, which is a plus. Like the jacket, the fleece lining will be a like much for Deep South opener but when the temp drops to in the 60’s and cool morning dew is out, they will be the cats (Crash) meow. Sizing is pretty close. I ordered a set in my waist size and they fit just right and doing a few deep knee bends to make sure the seems would hold to test em out. All was well and the stitching is solid. Well done on this series, very nice and can’t wait to get em in the tree use them on some hunts. Original Recipe on 29th Aug 2020
Lets start by saying these are way better than the snagging Adrenaline pants i have now that are shredded from a few years use. They fit pretty much right on. They feel snug when putting them on, but after a few minutes they set and break in like a pair of jeans and feel great. I am a little smaller than a 38 waist and ordered a 38 based on what Jen suggested,so sizing is pretty good. I can put one size larger on and pull them down without unbuttoning them, so i would caution against going up in size unless you just want em bigger. Finally Predator got the sizing right on a pair of pants.
They feel great and are soft inside with the lighter grid fleece lining. Climbing into a stand or up a ladder should be no problem with the stretch fabric used. I am looking forward to getting these into action and retiring the other shredded pants i have. Nice job of the choice of outer material as well. going to be way more durable than the series this one replaced. Home run with this light weight set guys. Hats off and thanks Jen.
