You can't beat a good quality vest for versatility and warmth. This one has it in spades. Love the front pocket, it is huge and can hold a lot of my smaller items like phone, smokes, lighter and release and still ha e room for both hands. Ambush is really warm and the pattern is rhe best out there.
Great vest, everyone needs this piece to add to their gear. I wear large and ordered large based on what Jen said. Fit was perfect. I highly recommend this vest. Original Recipe on 9th Mar 2023
Perfect piece for layering under a mid weight jacket for late season warmth. Keeps sleeves under a jacket less bulky for bowhunting and is really warm. Size is right on. Zipper is awkward at first but easy when you get used to it. Super pattern too. Mark T. on 20th Feb 2022
The ambush vest is a great piece to keep you comfortable when the temps are to warm for the jacket. It is also excellent as a base under your jacket for added warmth when it’s frigid. I have hunted in this suit in 24 degree weather and I was beyond comfortable, almost as if there were heating elements in the suit somehow. Tim B on 29th Oct 2020
Just getting my late season stuff in and this was a top pick. I love a good vest and the versatility they provide. Went with XL as that’s the jacket size I wear. Fit is spot on. Love the pouch pocket on the front. It is large and roomy. The fabric is quiet and soft. Zipper on side allows the pocket on front to be big and centered for easy access. Since the insulation used in this vest is Primaloft Silver, the same stuff used in the over priced, flavor of the month, yuppieflague Sitka, it will be warm for sure and a third of the price and the Predator pattern is ten times as good. Yep, Predator has got it going on with this vest. Thanks for a great product. I look forward to doing a follow up review after it gets cold enough to wear it. Mark T. on 29th Sep 2019
The vest itself is one of the most versatile pieces of hunting gear to own. This one makes no exceptions and takes the warmth factor to the next level. As a bow hunter in late season I worry about bulk in the sleeve area of my bow arm. With this vest, that’s not an issue and I sacrifice nothing in the way of warmth. The size zipper take a second to get used to zipping up, but the placement make perfect sense in order to provide total access to the front pocket. Speaking of, that thing is hugh and deep. You can add a hand warmer and some other small items and still have room to spare. I would have loved to see a vertical chest pocket to add yet more storage. The PrimaLoft Silver is nothing shy of outstanding and is what is used in the top of the line brands. In a tree in the dead of winter with no leaves, the Fall Gray make you a ghost. If you get busted, you screwed up and moved or got winded because they damn sure will not see you or pick you out. I would recommend this vest to every serious hunters who want serious gear. The size is true to fit and you don’t need much layering underneath for sure. If you use this vest as a mid layering item and add the bibs and/ or jacket you will be good to way lower than I have ever hunted which has been to a few degrees below zero. Great job Predator. this vest is warm for late fall. allows arm movement for drawing a bow string. not sure why the zipper is offset. the fall gray camo pattern has too much white. BUSTED by a doe at 25 yards. Unknown on 15th Dec 2018
